I have pre-generated a few characters for Amber to give people an idea of what is possible. Amber Pre Gen Characters.docx (20.11 KB) The characters are rather flat as I have not added backgrounds. If you want to rely on any ability of trick in game (other than those in tha standard rules) then I will need a written background story sent to my forum message box telling me how you aquired the ability.

I have updated the abridged rules with information on how long it takes to do stuff and how long it takes to find items i.e. get items without spending points. Amber Lite.docx (50.4 KB) The campaign will start in Amber one week before a Royal occasion to which you have been invited to or coerced into going to by an elder. You can be any type of character, pick a pre-gen or create your own. You can even be Avant-garde by choosing something not entirely in the rules such as a sentient shadow or artefact similar to Ghost wheel providing you can supply the mechanism for creating the character.

It really doesn't look like my thing ...I mean ...really not my thing - more so than anything we've played thus far (it just seems weird and confusing ...are you all essentially godlike or something? ...can't we just roll some funny shaped dice and kill a few goblins ). Anyway ...Steve, is Martin still planning on going?

Anyway ...Steve, is Martin still planning on going? If characters are played to thier full potential more on par with Over Gods. Typically at the start of campaign players are tentative and act on par with a high level DnD character. The truth in all games is that characters will face encounters taylored to power and despite character XP advancement there is no advancement just different encounters. (Probably too philosophical.) I'll move the plot to Trope town and add some goblins if that is the consensus. Dave

Ignore me I'm probably being too negative (it is me after all it's what I do ) ...but I'm a simple guy who likes simple stuff ...and dice. A roleplaying game should have f**king dice ...so yeah, I'm not even sure I'll be able to make it (if I do I'll just take a combat oriented pre-gen ...the first one perhaps) ...so ignore my childish rants* and go with what you have planned (*but you have been warned!!!!!)

I would like to run a new Amber campaign. Only James and Steve were around for the last campaign. James commented too much was going on. Steve said he had no idea what was happening. Steve's comment is echoed on feedback within YouTube videos of Amber.
Amber is a diceless role playing system. Kris balked at the idea of Diceless. I can introduce dice if it makes people more comfortable. The system is very simple but relies on players being creative with big powerful tools. Characters barring accidents are immortal and have the physical attributes of a demi-god. Action takes place in Shadows which are worlds unto themselves with thier own laws of magic and physics.
To introduce the system and powers I plan a series of small adventures introducing first skills, then items, and finally powers.
Do not watch You Tube videos, the character creation is obsolete I am not using standard rules. It will be several sessions before you get access to powers. The players in the videos did not know how to use thier powers.
If you are interested let me know.
