Right then; I am assuming that everyone is familiar with Mornington Crescent? - good! - as I am proposing a little online game of it!
I am proposing going back to what is (to me at least) the last "official" rules - that is Standard Edition 9, pre-dating the 1962 Vatican convention updates and of course keeping lateral shunts and disallowing zone 5 tokens.
I mean - what were they thinking! - tokens apply to ALL zones! - trying to keep them restricted to zone 5 goes against the whole ethos of the game! - and of course, lateral shunting was used in the very first official Mornington Crescent tournament rulebook (now sadly out of print) and so is enshrined in gameplay at the very highest level. Obviously therefore there is no going south of the river before midnight unless you're in Nid.

OK, I'll kick things off with a pretty standard 'Hampstead' opening move: Shepherd's Bush.

[commentators voice] ah.. A classic opening move there, reminiscent of the great player Nabakovs triumphant grand slam of '07... Not sure though if the Hampstead gambit will work with Standard Edition 9 rules...]

Sorry I am a bit slow.
BUT now we are in November I can safely play Golders Green without fear of anyone blocking through Embankment!

"Those of you listening in black & white will not realise that Gilbo is wearing a red wooly hat. Those of you familiar with the extended rules of the game, availiable in all good bookshops, will know that this, combined with the play of Golders Green means that that last move was illegal, and therefore Gilbo finds himself in hock for 12 hours."
I'll play... Whitechapel.

Hmmm - personally I'd rule that out of bounds as you've already had your one permitted lateral shunt this game.

Ah yes - the classic Green Park spiked trap! - I can't believe he fell for that. Very nice play on the part of Tony there.
Now - as it is an odd-numbered year, and no one has invoked Parks as being out of season yet - which you could have done, you just missed your chance - I will compound the problem for Steve by going straight to Regents Park, which under the Double Consecutive Parks Rule (as ratified in 2018 - do keep up!) means he is in Nid for 2 turns!

James is clearly very out of touch here. It was me that played the cunning Green Park, not Tony. For that mistake James loses 3 and has to go back to Oxford Circus. It's now Tony's go and Metropolitan options are back in play, leaving yellow wide open. Unless Jonny wants to join in by invoking Chesterton's Pimlico Amendment....
