Consider the following. Having devised a mana generating ritual Convert the ritual to a spell Convert the spell to an item Invoke the item to generate mana (Invoking an item costs zero mana)
The item is a mana font of any desired size. The mana generating spell will have a difficulty. Via overburn of mana and long rituals reduce the spell to a rank zero spell costing 4*0 = 0 XP Having created the first mana font we can create a bigger one ad-infinitum.
Having infinite mana over burn any spell and reduce its cost to 1 Any sphere at rank 1 can be used to create god level spells providing the mana font is large enough.
As a loyal follower of Hecate Cast a perception spell across the realm affecting every being except Hecate which obscrues the mana font from all pecerception. Hecate has sole access to the font and infinite power to redress the balance and reshape the realm to her desire.

well - the idea has some merit... - but no item can ever be created for zero XP cost... - all items always cost the level of the magic sphere used to create them - there is no way around this... - it's fundamental to the way that magic works: you have to use some lifeforce to burn the magical effect into the item permanently.
And - I assume you are talking about the mana sharing ritual, which when used by 2 mages with a combined total magic sphere rank that is greater than 10 results in them getting some free mana? - whilst that is true, there are limits to it: namely - the maximum you can generate from this method per day is your level in the magic sphere of free mana. And: this mana is produced by 2 mages going into a deep resonance together, sharing their concepts of magic and coming out of it refreshed with a bit of extra mana to spend... - that process is not something that could be totally duplicated by a "fire and forget" magic item.... - this free mana is only available due to the deep melding of 2 mages magic.
But - I like the way you are thinking.... - there definitely could be other ways of achieving the same desired outcome though...
