I have tried hard to give everyone cool stuff for their characters and be fair to all of you, but I admit I am not perfect and this may have led to imbalance in power levels. Some characters can do more than others.
There is always going to be imbalance in the game. Some builds are better than others. Sometimes it comes down to the roll of a dice. But, it is very frustrating if your character seems underpowered compared to the rest, so I would like to try and address any problems.
Often the disparity comes because some classes can do more than others. Gragga has very few options available to him. Tarik and Jesus have a few more, but basically they hit stuff. The others have a wide range of abilities and powers that mean they have far more options. I can’t change that much, and you picked it, so there you go.
The initial four PCs have been given bonus stuff by the dwarves, then everyone except Ramas got bonus sphinx stuff. Obviously that immediately makes those PCs better, so that imbalance is always going to be there. I’m not going to change that.
Most of you have some cool magic items. Some may be better than others. I have tried my best to be fair. Obviously the later you joined the game, the less you will have. I am going to double the limit of attuned items that you are allowed, so it is now six. The reason for this is that it allows more flexibility for me to give you stuff, and I just like magic items.
Often, particularly in combat, some characters have a lot more actions than others. This does lead to some people having a lot more to do than others. I’m not sure how to address this, as it is dependent on the rules. Regarding the argument about unarmed strikes in wildshape. I previously ruled that Seijin could make a bonus unarmed strike. I think this is fair, as he took a level of monk to give himself this ability. However, I think it should only apply when the beast form does not have multiple attacks. Also, you will need to have practised fighting in that form (like you did with the spider) to gain the bonus unarmed attack.
I will also remind everyone that we are using the additional options available in the unearthed arcana document below, which give you access to some extra features.
Class features
Above all, I want everyone to have fun and enjoy the game. If it’s not fun and people are getting frustrated then we should try and change things to make it better. If anyone has any other ideas or rule modifications, please let me know.
Terms and conditions apply. All rules are subject to change without prior notice. PCs may be subjected to nerfing, smiting and/or painful death at any time. All magic items remain the property of the DM and may be removed and/or nerfed. The DM’s decision is final. Anyone who disagrees with the DM may be subject to smiting and/or removal of powers, magic items, or limbs.
